Description
Overview
The FST is a Carbon Zapp test device for the low-pressure side of diesel and gasoline fuel systems. It measures fuel pressure, fuel flow, intake manifold vacuum and exhaust back-pressure. The device is used on the vehicle and is adaptable to all makes and types.
Diagnosis
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Incorrect system fuel flow, plugged fuel filter
- Faulty fuel pump
- Plugged fuel pump inlet strainer, faulty fuel pump check valve
- Leaky fuel injectors
- Incorrect operation of the fuel pressure regulator, fuel foaming or contamination
- Restrictions in supply and return fuel lines
- Intake manifold vacuum fluctuation
- Exhaust back-pressure for testing DPF and catalytic converter
- Turbo-Boost pressure operation
